What's Now Playing

Free What's Now Playing 5.1.0

What's Now Playing is a free, open-source tool with pre-built binaries for Windows, macOS, and Linux that reads live track data from DJ software and delivers it to stream overlays, chat bots, and more. No Python installation required.

Supported inputs include:
  • Serato DJ, Traktor, Virtual DJ, DJUCED, djay Pro
  • Denon DJ (StageLinQ), MIXXX, JRiver Media Center
  • MPRIS2-compatible software (VLC, etc.) on Linux
  • Windows Media-compatible programs (Spotify, Amazon Music, etc.)
  • Software that writes M3U files
  • Vinyl decks, standalone CDJs, Rekordbox, and analog mixers via WNP EarShot (optional companion app using Shazam-based identification)

On first launch, WNP automatically detects running DJ software. No manual source selection required for most setups.

Output options include:
  • Plain text, HTML, and WebSockets streaming to OBS browser sources
  • 42 bundled OBS overlay templates including 7 WebGL animated effects
  • "Export for OBS..." generates a ready-to-import OBS scene collection in one click — no manual source configuration needed
  • Direct output to OBS text sources via OBS WebSocket
  • Artist images and bios from Discogs, FanArt.TV, TheAudioDB, Last.fm, and Wikimedia
  • Twitch, Kick, and Discord bot integration with 36 bundled announcement templates
  • Automatic stream title updates on each track change
  • Twitch chat Guess Game with leaderboards
  • Viewer track requests via channel point redemptions or chat commands
